Some cool Facts about Sugaring you should know!
-
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HAND SUGARING VS. SQUEEZE & STRIP BOTTLE SUGARING?There are two methods of sugaring: “Hand Sugaring” and “Squeeze & Strip” method. Hand sugaring is the most natural and ancient way of hair removal. Strip sugaring sees a thin layer of sugar paste being applied with a spatula. A cloth is then placed over the paste before being removed. At Sugarwaxed, we hand sugar the traditional, all the way in order to make sure no hair is left behind or broken. Hand sugaring is not only the most sanitary and meticulous way of sugaring, it is also an art. Only the best hair removal specialist use this method.

IS SUGARING PAINFUL?Honestly, it depends on the person. The first time is the hardest, and it only gets easier from there. On repeated visits, within 4-5 weeks the hair follicles will be smaller and the bulbs weaker, so they’ll come out smoother each time. Our secret formulation has zero wax resin and it is made only with sugar, lemon and water. Thus it is 100% water soluble, organic and gentle to the skin. No irritations, burns or bumps. Only smooth hair-free skin for both women and men.
-
IS SUGARING THE SAME AS WAXING?No in our opinion it’s much better! The benefits of sugaring over waxing: It’s more hygienic, lasts longer, and can be less painful if done regularly. Sugaring doesn’t cause ingrown hairs (it can actually correct them)! In addition, sugaring is a natural exfoliating treatment for the skin and can lead to permanent reduction of hair growth. We don’t understand why anyone would want to wax, either.
-
WHAT TEMPERATURE IS THE SUGAR PASTE?It’s body temperature or lukewarm, which means it can’t burn your skin.
-
WHAT IS THE REQUIRED HAIR LENGTH FOR SUGARING? AND CAN IT LEAD TO PERMANENT HAIR REMOVALYour hair should be between 3 and 5mm (length of a grain of rice) in length if you are new to sugaring. Once practiced in a regular cycle you can sugar hair even shorter than 2mm. It is possible to become permanently hairless if being sugared correctly and regularly.
-
HOW LONG BEFORE HAIR RE-GROWS AFTER SUGARING?Generally, after sugaring, it can last between 4-6 weeks. Depending on the level of hair growth and how regular you sugar. This varies from one person to another and is also depending on the body area. Hair growth will not necessarily be equally distributed and hair grows at different rates. Other factors play a role in hair growth as well, for example, your genetics, your hormones and your lifestyle. However, repeated sugaring treatments ever weaken the hair system so re-growth gets sparser with time and can even lead to permanency.
-
WILL THE HAIR GROW BACK THICKER AND DARKER?Properly extracting hair does not make it grow back thicker or darker. A hair that becomes darker and heavier – as seen on women’s facial hair generally in the upper lip and chin area, is predetermined to do so or has been prompted to change into a terminal hair by one of several factors such as, but not limited to, hormones.

WHAT IS YOUR NO SHOW POLICY?As you can imagine, a client not turning up for their appointment can lead us into a difficult situation. As a company, we miss turnover and have a gap in our agenda. Of course, we always have the client’s best interest in mind and understand the occasional missed appointment. However should this occur regularly then the client is obliged to pay the costs of the missed appointment. A “No Show” is a client who does not show up on the appointed time, this includes coming 15 minutes late. This will be specified in your client profile.
